Takeaways from Mariana Tek
City Tour
We took our quest for boutique fitness insights on the road this year to shine a light on what you’re building, strengthen studio owner communities, and have a little bit of fun! Here are three trends we saw in action:

Wellness offerings are multiplying
We planned our city tour stop in Toronto around a community experience at Othership, a brand on the leading edge of this wellness evolution. This sauna and ice bath experience is one of many activations of wellness and recovery options we’re seeing our customers begin to offer.
Events are moving outside the studio
You’ve thoughtfully designed your perfect studio, but that doesn’t mean you have to stay inside it all the time! One thing is clear from our city tour and survey responses: Running exciting events—collabs with other studios and businesses, outdoor or themed classes, pop-ups, etc.—is crucial to Mariana Tek studios.
One example from our city tour stop in Nashville was this skyline ride atop a pedestrian bridge. Getting our heart rates pumping with some crazy views? Yes, please. Two brands with different modalities coming together to host this event? Even better.

Studios are embracing their role as third spaces
Studios are no longer just places to work out, they’re becoming “third spaces” where members feel a sense of belonging, connection, and community. The most successful operators are elevating the experience with hospitality-driven touches: creating welcoming environments where people want to linger, and training staff to make every interaction feel personal and seamless. At our City Tour stop at iiCE Fitness in Dallas, for example, there’s a strong intention to make people feel seen, celebrated, and part of something special.
